Our meeting season for 2014/15:

  • Feb 24   Romsley Schools and Schoolteachers - 1684 to 1950. Julian Hunt Read the Meeting Report
  • Mar 24   John Corbett and the making of Droitwich Spa. Julian Hunt (change of programme) Read the Meeting Report
  • Apr 28    What the Court Rolls Tell Us - A Progress Report. Dr. Michael Hall  New: Read the Meeting Report         
  • May 26   Annual General Meeting  - Followed by a selection of local photographs from the collection of Brian Green
  • Jun 23   Soggy Cabbage and Ink Stained Fingers - Ex-pupils' memories of Romsley School  - Ruth Harper and others. This meeting will be held in the School Hall. New: Read the Meeting Report

 


 

The next meeting of the History Society is the Annual General Meeting to be held on Tuesday 26th May in the Church Hall at 7.30 p.m. This will be followed by a selection of photographs taken by Brian Green of the local area. If you saw the last selection of his photographs you will know this is not to be missed!

On the 23rd June, Ruth Harper will be giving a talk on Romsley School, 'Soggy Cabbage and Ink Stained Fingers' as it celebrates its centenary. The meeting will take place in the school, which we hope will be open about 6.30 p.m. so that people can view the exhibition. The talk will begin about 7.30 p.m.

On 2nd July there will be a visit to the Carpet Museum in Kidderminster at 10.30 a.m., cost £6.00 and on the 10th July the Annual Dinner will take place at Blakedown Golf Club, the cost will be £19.00 per person

The next meeting of the Court Rolls Group will be on Wednesday 17th June at 2.30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
