Romsley Sanitorium

Romsley Sanatorium employed about 200 staff, including a number of gardeners who grew vegetables for the hospital kitchen. With cases of tuberculosis becoming less common, the West Midland Regional Health Authority began to use the Sanatorium's beds for geriatric patients. Romsley Hill Hospital finally closed in September 1980. It is now divided into flats.
